Thank you, Linda Sekerak, for asking this question and giving me an opportunity to thank all those generous pattern designers who allow individuals "sewing at home" to use their patterns for resale. I do have my own original designs as well, and hope to be sharing some of my own patterns in the future.
It is important to note that each designer has different limitations on pattern use, so if you do decide to use a pattern for resale purposes, make sure you do some research.
Sandi Henderson is one of my all time favorite fabric and pattern designers. I've sold more of "The Claire in Wonderland" dress than any other. It's just such a wonderful design and paired up with the Wonderland fabrics (Momo for Moda), it became a photographer's favorite.
I was really excited to be able to use Sandi's pattern in my shop and when I emailed her to thank her for her generosity, she sent me a very nice response. Was it a coincidence that Jennifer Anderson (who has worked with Sandi before), contacted me about photographing the dress for me? What a beautiful thing when your work is presented in such an awesome way by a professional photographer.

...there are many more designers to thank....I guess I'll be doing more posts :-)
